Prototype Star Trek Delta Ring

**PROTOTYPE**

We've come into possession of what we feel is a set of prototype of the Star Trek Rings that are close to the ones we sell here in the store. 

We find it unique enough to put them up for sale.

Here are the differences:

The Prototype ring has a width 0.75"  and a height of 0.625"

The band tapers to 0.25"

It is much heavier than the commercial ring.

The delta has a rivet instead of a diamond chip.  Whether that was to make it seem more masculine versus the diamond chip is anyone's guess.

The sides show the Enterprise in the same views as the commercial ring with Star Trek on one side and NCC-1701 on the other but the images are on opposite sides than the commercial ring.

The reason why we think it is a prototype is found on the inner band of the ring.

First it says S925 - it's not made from sterling silver so the thought was that to save money the manufacturer chose a base metal alloy that was either electroplated in silver or chromed.  The proposal probably was to create a more expensive ring in Sterling Silver but we have never seen this style of the ring before.

The Space: The Final Frontier quote on the interior- the space between The and Final is missing so it reads SPACE: THEFINAL FRONTIER.

The TM Trademark after the saying is also missing on the prototype versus the commercial ring.

For these reasons we feel this may have been a prototype or test run of proposed rings that never came out.

These prototype rings are only available in sizes US 8 to US 12

When you compare the two rings it's easy to see how this may have originally been the larger ring for those with a bigger hand and the final decision was to go for a unisex ring which is more in tune with the diversity of Star Trek.

Note: All of our ring sizes are US Sizes - UP TO SIZE 12!

We have included a chart for our fans who are abroad to figure out your size but be sure to do your own research.  Rings come in full sizes only; no half sizes.
